FireFly® Power-over-Fiber Adapter
The Power-over-Fiber (POF) adapter is designed for the FireFly® Series and enables continuous 24/7 operation without swapping batteries.

- Full galvanic isolation between probe head and grounded equipment is preserved
- Requires a PMK power supply channel (e.g. PS02 / PS03)
Install the adapter by removing the probe head battery door and replacing the 18650 cell with the POF module. The probe head then uses two fiber links: one carries measurement signals to the FireFly® interface box (as today), the second delivers isolated power from the POF base station through the battery compartment.
FireFly® system with POF
A typical bench includes the FireFly® system, the external POF adapter, a PMK power supply, and an oscilloscope. The FireFly® interface box and POF base station each need a supply channel. Signal and power paths remain optically isolated end to end.
Scope of delivery
The POF adapter ships as one assembly: laser power source, base unit, and fiber lead to the probe battery bay. A Lemo-type cable for the PMK power supply is included. The power supply itself is not included.
