When measuring currents directly, the circuit has to be severed to connect the measuring instrument in-line of the circuit. Current clamp-type probes offer a way of measuring currents without severing the circuit,
because they register the magnetic field currents provide. Because of this clamp-type ironcore it is possible to encompass conductors for measuring purposes instead of severing them.This is especially useful for
facilities, wich cannot be powered down. Another benefit of this way of probing is the galvanic isolation:
